Firefighter Bobby Hooks uses a saw to cut into the outside wall of the DeRidder Burger King to aid responders in extinguishing a fire that developed outside of the women’s restroom. Firefighters responded to the call at approximately noon on Thursday and the fire is believed to have been caused by a discarded cigarette butt that was dropped onto a pile of dried leaves. Despite the gaping hole in its wall, the restaurant reopened for business shortly after the fire was extinguished.
