Quincy L. Cheek is the new Family and Consumer Sciences Extension Agent, or Home Economist, for the LSU AgCenter, in Beauregard Parish.

Cheek has been with the LSU AgCenter since March of 2005 and during that time she worked in Grant, LaSalle, Rapides and Vernon Parishes where she provided nutritional education programs to youth and adult audiences.

She is a graduate of Nicholls State University where she obtained her Associate of Science degree in Culinary Arts under the instruction of Chef John Folse and allowed her to work as a professional chef prior to becoming a part of the LSU AgCenter team.

She also is a graduate of Northwestern State University, where she received her Bachelor of Science degree in Family and Consumer Sciences with a focus on nutrition. She is currently pursuing a Master of Education degree with a concentration in counseling at Northwestern State University.

Cheek began transitioning into Beauregard Parish in the fall of 2008.

She currently resides in Lecompte, Louisiana with her husband, Matt and her son, Logan.
