Joy Manning Boggs, 91, of Sugartown passed away at a DeRidder Care Facility on January 17, 2009.  She was born in Thomas, Okla., in 1917 and moved to the DeRidder area with her family in 1926.

She is survived by her husband of 66 years, Frank Boggs of Sugartown, one son Frank Boggs, Jr. and wife Lynne also of Sugartown, one sister Enid Manning Rideout of Temple, TX, and two grandchildren David and Laura Boggs, both students at LSU in Baton Rouge.
She was preceded in death by her parents and six siblings.  She was a homemaker for most of her life, but prior to and during WW II was employed by West Brothers Department Stores and the DeRidder Army Air Base.

Visitation will be held at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, La., on Sunday, Jan. 18, from 4 p.m. until 8 p.m., and will continue on Monday, Jan. 19, from 11 a.m. until 2 p.m.

Funeral Services will be held on Monday, Jan. 19, 2009 at 2 p.m. at Myers Colonial Funeral Home in DeRidder, La., and will be officiated by Rev. J.D. Ford and Rev. George Glass, Jr.
