Greta Louise Burnett, 74, of Longville, La., died at 3:35 a.m. on Monday, Jan. 19, 2009 in her daughter’s residence.

Born March 19, 1934, Mrs. Burnett was a native of Newton, Texas and a longtime resident of Longville.  She was a loving mother, grandmother, and great-grandmother having ten children, eight girls and two boys.

Mrs. Burnett is survived by her husband, John Sidney Miller; children, Viva Burnett of Phoenix, Ariz.; Wesley Burnett and wife Cindy of Amarillo, Texas; Norma Neel and husband Maurice of Longville, Ella Mae Mabile and husband Harris, also of Longville, Debbie Landry and husband Keith of Belle Rose, La., Homer Burnett and wife Monique of Canyon, Texas, Barbara Lisotta and husband Johnny of Ragley, La., Denise Clark and husband Mike of Longville, Tina Guillory, also of Longville, and Pam Burnett of Dry Creek, La.; sisters, Edna McKnight and Helen Martin; and brother, Lucky Broxson. The also leaves behind 43 grandchildren; and 73 great-grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her first husband, Willie Bill Burnett; parents, Wilburn and Ella Mae Broxson and Reuben Hathcock; sister Jean; brother, Thomas; grandchildren, Jamie Pilley, Sherry Perry, and Timothy Mabile; and great-grandchildren, Abraham S. Bertrand, Hunter Hart, and Brionna Lisotta.

Her funeral service will be at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, Jan. 21, 2009 at Faith Baptist Church, in Ragley, under the direction of Johnson Funeral Home. 

Reverends Bill Smith and Rick Batchelor will officiate. 

Burial will follow in Dry Creek Cemetery.  Visitation will be at the church from 11a.m. to 9 p.m. and continue on Wednesday from 8a.m. until the start of the service.
