Funeral services for Julia Cleola Carver Tilley, 93, were held Saturday, Jan. 24, 2009 at 1 p.m., at Pentecostal Gospel Lighthouse Church in DeRidder with the Rev. James Herrington and the Rev. Malcom Jeane officiating. Interment followed at Burr Ferry Cemetery, in Leesville, under the direction of Hixson Funeral Home, of DeRidder.

Visitation was on Friday, Jan. 23  from 4 p.m. until 10 p.m., and Saturday, Jan. 24 from 8 a.m. until time of service at the church.

Mrs. Tilley died Thursday, Jan. 22, 2009 in DeRidder, La.

She leaves to cherish her memory, a daughter, Betty Spell and husband James; a son, the Rev. Eddie A. Tilley and wife Beverly; sisters Claudia Willis and Lural Dodson; brother Cullen Carver; seven grandchildren; and 12 great grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband Edward A. Tilley; a daughter, Nelta Kay; a grandson, Johnny Kay; her parents; four sisters; and five brothers.
