Bernice Nichols Berry, 96, of Beaumont, Texas, died Wednesday, Jan. 28, 2009.

She was born on November 3, 1912 in Merryville, Louisiana to the late Maude and Jessie Nichols.

Bernice was a retired beautician having lived in Beaumont since 1938.

Her husband, Tom Berry preceded her in death in 1993.

She leaves behind her church family at Paradise Primitive Baptist Church; her nieces and nephews; her sister-in-law, Bonnie Nichols; as well as a host of friends.

Her funeral service will be at 10 a.m. Friday, Jan. 30, 2009 at Broussard’s, 1605 North Major Drive, in Beaumont. A graveside service will be at 2 p.m. Friday afternoon at Cooper Cemetery in Merryville, La.

A gathering of her family and friends will be from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. Thursday, Jan. 29, 2009 at the Mortuary.
