Did we need a bail out? You bet we did.
See Romans 3:23 says “for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God.”
If you were born you need a bail out. Jesus was the original bail out for us, he paid our debts.
Heb 10:10,12
10 By that will we have been sanctified through the offering of the body of Jesus Christ once for all.
12 But this Man, after He had offered one sacrifice for sins forever, sat down at the right hand of God.
What Jesus did on the cross, set us free from our bondage, he bailed us out. Galations 5:1
1 It was for freedom that Christ set us free; therefore keep standing firm and do not be subject again to a yoke of slavery.
Another way to look at a bail out is like this, storms are gonna blow and sometimes things in life get tough, but if you know you are where God wants you, don’t bail out.
Acts 27:20-25
20 Since neither sun nor stars appeared for many days, and no small storm was assailing us, from then on all hope of our being saved was gradually abandoned.
21 When they had gone a long time without food, then Paul stood up in their midst and said, “Men, you ought to have followed my advice and not to have set sail from Crete and incurred this damage and loss.
22 “ Yet now I urge you to keep up your courage, for there will be no loss of life among you, but only of the ship.
23 “For this very night an angel of the God to whom I belong and whom I serve stood before me,
24 saying, ‘Do not be afraid, Paul; you must stand before Caesar; and behold, God has granted you all those who are sailing with you.’
25 “Therefore, keep up your courage, men, for I believe God that it will turn out exactly as I have been told.
Paul said God told me I had to be somewhere, so no matter what it looks like around me I am not gonna bail out, cause I believe God. If you know that you know then hang on. One more way to look at it is sometimes we are comfortable in the boat, but God wants to build our faith so he calls to you and says bail out with me.
Matt 14:25-29
25 And in the fourth watch of the night He came to them, walking on the sea. 26 When the disciples saw Him walking on the sea, they were terrified, and said, “It is a ghost!” And they cried out in fear.
27 But immediately Jesus spoke to them, saying, “Take courage, it is I; do not be afraid.”
28 Peter said to Him, “Lord, if it is You, command me to come to You on the water.”
29 And He said, “Come!” And Peter got out of the boat, and walked on the water and came toward Jesus.
The boat is safe and a lot of people are OK with riding a pew into heaven. I am not. Ordinary people get by doing just enough, but extraordinary people push the envelope and bail out, sometimes you sink and sometimes you swim but you will never know till you bail out and see.
Phillipians 4:13
13 I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me.
Rev 12:11
11 And they overcame him by the blood of the Lamb and by the word of their testimony.
We are overcomer’s.
Next week June 26-28 is the watermelon festival and I challenge you to bail out of your comfort zones and come help us tell people about the original bail out: JESUS.
